Recipe: Salumi board to impress

Let’s be honest, you’ve probably had a few of these in this month alone. Salumi (or charcuterie) boards are a staple for any event meant to bring people together. Whether you’re with your cohort this weekend, or making things social distancing friendly (mini boards- anyone?), this post will help guide you in the right direction. The key to a great Salumi board is to mix up colours, and ensure to spread out Steps 4 & 5 items throughout the board.

  • Step 1: Find the right boards to build your platters. If doing a mini board: choose small plates, boards, or even a small box. If doing a large platter, choose a large cutting board.

  • Step 2: Add your cured meat. You can be proud to tell a story behind every kind from VDG Salumi that you chose, knowing it’s sourced from Bear & The Flower Pork Farm and created by a family owned company.

We always recommend to choose cured meats based on 50g per person. Below is enough for a family of 6.

  • Step 3: Use a variety of cheeses with varying milk types and colour such as The Old School Cheesery Cheddar, Noble Meadows Farm Goat Cheese, Brie.

  • Step 4: Add some cured olives and colourful antipasti, as well as some fruits

  • Step 5: Add a few spreads, Wurthy Jams and mustards with with a variety of crackers and bread sticks.

  • Step 6: And for some finishing touches, add some fresh herb sprigs such as mint or rosemary.
